🎯 Goal
Read rhythms in 4/4 and tap with accurate timing as the notation scrolls.
Your tap zone is the white stage (where the staff is).
🟩 Where to Tap
- iPhone/iPad: tap inside the white stage. Taps outside the stage are ignored.
- Desktop: press Spacebar (or tap inside the stage).
- The light mint background helps you see the stage region.
🎛 Controls
- Mode: Lives or Timer.
- Length: 30–120s (Timer mode only).
- Challenge: Level 1–7.
- BPM: tempo.
- Start / End: begin or stop a run.
- Calibrate: sync timing for your device.
❤️ Lives Mode
- You start with 3 lives.
- You lose a life when a note onset is missed (missed onsets).
- To keep it fair in dense rhythms: max 1 life lost per beat.
- The run ends when lives reach 0, or you press End.
⏱ Timer Mode
- Select a length (30–120s), then press Start.
- The run ends when time reaches 0 or you press End.
⭐ Scoring
- On-Beat hit = +1 credit
- Perfect hit = +2 credits
- Every 8 credits = +1 point
- Score is shown live in the top pill (Lives mode) and in the Results screen.
Tip: Calibrate first, then start slower. Accuracy improves fastest at lower BPM.
⚙️ Calibration
- Tap Calibrate.
- You’ll hear an 8-beat count-in; during the first 4 beats, clicks happen only on 1 and 3 (silent on 2 and 4).
- Then you’ll hear the next 8 clicks. Tap with each click to measure device timing.
- Tap the dim background (not the help panel) during calibration.
- The offset saves automatically. Recalibrate if you change audio output (speaker/headphones/Bluetooth).
